Service Type – Impeller Replacement

Boat engines are cooled by lake water. The impeller pumps water from the lake into your engine’s cooling system. Damage or wear to the impeller can cause your boat to overheat. HLWS advises you to follow the manufacturer’s recommendation for impeller replacement to prevent your engine from overheating and damaging the engine. Impeller replacement price varies greatly based on the location and accessibility. You can call the service department to get a more specific quote based on your boat’s year, make and model

Impeller Replacement Includes:

  • – Clean out the water strainer or transmission cooler.
  • – Replace the impeller and gaskets or seals as needed.
  • – Validate operation of new impeller.

If your boat has overheated, the impeller will disintegrate and the pieces will clog up your cooling system. These pieces must be found and/or flushed out to ensure proper cooling and prevent damage to the new impeller. A broken impeller can cost an hour or more of extra time to the impeller replacement.
